The parish of Santo Estêvão, located in a transition area between the sea and the mountains, in the Algarve barrocal.

Among the craft activities that still exist, wicker or cane basketry, lace, wooden chairs and distillery stand out. In terms of gastronomy, sausages and other pork derivatives, homemade bread, regional almond sweets and dried fruits mark the flavors of this area of the municipality.

A part of the population still lives off farming and citrus production. The production of carob, citrus, figs, almonds and hunting also play an important role in the parish's economic activities and in the population's diet. Tourism has been developing in the parish, particularly with the presence of various accommodations.

In traditional crafts, we highlight wicker or cane basketwork, lace, wooden chairs and we also have distillery activities.
